What's happening: The Transportation Authority of Marin (TAM) is on track to fund $453,000 of Mill Valley's $2.5 million request to rebuild the intersection at Miller Avenue, Montford Avenue and La Goma Street, according to the city's application in TAM's September 16 committee packet, enough for design work, not construction.

TAM staff ranked the application last among nine Marin projects competing for this round of federal funding. Higher-ranked projects do better: San Rafael's Canal Crossing Project, ranked second, is recommended for its full $5 million ask, and Marin Transit's bus facility electrification project, ranked fourth, is recommended for $4 million toward its request.
"$450,000 is better than zero. It gets us going," Councilmember Urban Carmel, who sits on the five-member TAM executive committee deciding the funding, told the Briefing. He added that he hopes to raise Mill Valley's amount before the vote and needs two of the other four commissioners to back him.
