What’s happening: The Marin County Board of Supervisors votes Tuesday on whether to adopt the environmental review for an $18 million rebuild of Muir Woods Road and approve the project, according to a county staff report. The agenda lists it on the consent agenda.

The staff report says the work covers 2.4 miles from the Muir Woods entrance to Highway 1. It would replace the 1946 bridge over Redwood Creek, repair or replace about 36 culverts and stabilize up to 10 failed slopes.

Road work is along Muir Woods Road, also known as Frank Valley Road, and would not impact cars going from Tam Valley to Muir Beach using Shoreline Highway. (Google Earth, MVB graphic)
