What's happening: Mill Valley School District enrollment climbed from 2,326 students in 2025-26 to 2,416 this year, up 3.9%, according to the district's own enrollment reports. Nearly all of that growth sits in one grade. Transitional kindergarten rose from 174 students to 240, up 37.9%, while every other elementary grade held roughly flat or moved by single digits.
The growth isn't evenly spread across the district's five elementary schools. Edna Maguire's and Tam Valley’s TK enrollment grew from 40 students to 60. Strawberry Point grew from 56 to 80. Park grew more modestly, from 38 to 40. Old Mill has no TK program in either year, per the same reports.
