What’s happening: Superintendent Elizabeth Kaufman told the school board Thursday, Oct. 15 that a draft instructional technology use framework goes to trustees in December, with approval targeted for February.

The Briefing reported in August that the district was building it this year. Kaufman said the first version will use a minutes-based approach to student device use. She called that not ideal but a way to build community agreement before the district spends a few years examining how devices are used. The limits will focus on students on individual devices. Teachers will keep deciding how to use teacher-led screens.
