Mill Valley's Boyle Park master plan goes to City Council on May 18

The Mill Valley Parks and Recreation Commission voted unanimously last Tuesday to recommend a master plan for Boyle Park to City Council for approval. The plan - the first update since 1991 - was developed through a two-year community process, with landscape architects RHAA engaged since September 2024, according to the staff report.

What's in it: The plan identifies 13 priority improvements with a total estimated cost of $8.6 million to $10.7 million, based on 2025 industry standards. The largest items are a replacement children's play area at $2 million to $4 million, new restrooms at $1.95 million, and pathway and circulation improvements at $1.95 million to $2.05 million. Projects can be funded and built individually. Staff have already submitted tennis court improvements at $341,400 for the city's fiscal year 2026/27 capital budget.
